Time for Colts to Move On

November 4th, 2009

Indianapolis Colts safety Bob Sanders has been an integral part of the defense for the last several years.

However, it is time for the Colts to move on from Sanders.

The problem with Sanders has been that he has not been able to stay healthy over the duration of his career.

Of his six year career Sanders has never played a full season as the most he has played in one year was 15 games in 2007.

This year Sanders has only played two games before he got hurt.

In the end it is time for the Colts to move on as a player is worthless if he is never on the field.

People Need to Get Johnson’s Play call

November 4th, 2009

National Football League announcer Gus Johnson made a call on a play last week that offened some people.

The fact of the matter is that people need to get over it.

When calling a play last week Johnson stated that the running back had breakaway from the cops speed.

Some people found that to be racist.

If anything it is funny as everyone out there at one time or another have called police officers names pig, 5-0, and etc.

The fact of the matter is like Johnson stated white and black people run from cops.

In the end some people need to get a life.

Even in Death Upshaw Haunts NFLPA

November 4th, 2009

Former National Football League Players Association executive director Gene Upshaw has been dead for a while now.

Even though he maybe gone his actions stll have a reounding affect on the NFL.

The last time the NFL and NFLPA agreed on a Collective Bargaining Agreement the NFLPA too the NFL to the cleaners.

Now, the owners are hell bent on making the NFLPA pay fopr the fast one they pulled.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the owners will do whatever they have to do in order to get what they feel is appropriate.

That message has become clearer each day as according to ProFootballTalk.com there are rumours of a post season strike.

That will never happen as there are stipulations in the current CBA preventing such.

However, what the rumour says is that the players realize that they are screwed after this season.

In the end the only real way for a CBA to get done soon is for current NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith to go up to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and tell him fine u guys win, and give into their demands.

Maybin is Getting a Raw Deal

November 4th, 2009

The Buffalo Bills took defensive end Aaron Maybin to be one of their franchise defensive ends in this past April’s draft.

Simply, Maybin is getting screwed by the stupididty of the Bills coaching staff.

Many people are calling Maybin a bust as he has no sacks.

The fact of the matter is that he has no sacks, because the the Bills give him very few snaps a game.

Right now the third defensive end on the depth chart is Ryan Denney who has done nothing this year to impact the defense.

The fact of the matter is that Denney should have been cut, but foir whatever reason the Bills foolishly see something in him.

Maybin next year will move up to the third defensive end spot as Denney’s contract is up.

The thing is Maybin should be starting now as the Bills are going nowhere ans the run derfense is the worst in the league.

In the end problem is not Maybin, but a coaching staff that doesn’t deserve to be coaches.

A Byrd Takes Flight

November 3rd, 2009

The Buffalo Bills took Jairus Byrd in the second round with the hopes that he would turn into a playmaker at safety.

In just half a season Byrd proved the Bills thinking as he is contending for Defensive Player of the year with seven interceptions on the year, which are all in his last four games.

Most likely Byrd will not break the record for most interceptions in a season, which is 14 by Dick “Night Train” Lane in 1952 for the Los Angeles Rams as a rookie.

Most likely Byrd will not break the record as teams will now inform their quarterbacks to be aware of where Byrd is at all times.

Yes, you could argue that a lot of those interceptions were luck as quite a few of them were ricochets of wide receivers.

However, that is what good free safeties do as they get themselves in a position to make a play after a mistake is made.

I base that on what I saw as I looked at every interception for both Byrd and New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper.

Both caught interceptions on ricochets and deep passes overthrown, or off target.

The only difference between the two is the fact that Sharper made a couple interceptions on plays where quarterbacks took a long time to throw the ball or locked on a wide receiver.

In the end Byrd will be a superstar in the National Football League.

A Big Game for Cowboys’

November 3rd, 2009

The Dallas Cowboys have quietly climbed the ranks of the NFC East as they have won three straight games.

This Sunday the Cowboys play in a huge game as they play the Philadelphia Eagles this week who is in a first place tie for the NFC East.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a huge win against the New York Giants.

In that game the Eagles defense intercepted Giants quarterback Eli Manning twice raising their total to 14, which is third in the league.

That means the game will be a defining moment for Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo as he vowed change earlier this year.

This is also the first time the Cowboys have played the Eagles since the blow out 44-6 loss to the Eagles in regular season finale.

In the end if the Cowboys don’t win Sunday they will most likely miss the playoffs again as their schedule only gets tougher now.

A Defining Moment for the Broncos

November 3rd, 2009

The Denver Broncos suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.

Champions are not made in the number of wins they rack up, but how they react the next week to a loss.

On Sunday the Pittsburgh Steelers come to town in what will be a defining moment for the Broncos.

Last Sunday the Broncos offense was held to just 218 yards of total offense, which us way down from their average of 344 yards total a game offensively.

The thing is the Steelers defense is better than the Ravens defense as the Steelers are holding offenses to 291 yards of total offense versus the Raven’s 313 yards that they are holding offenses to.

In the end if the Broncos don’t come up with an answer to the Steelers defense the Broncos will not go very far in the playoffs.

Garrard’s Time in Jacksonville Nearing End

November 3rd, 2009

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio made David Garrad the starting quarterback several seasons ago.

However, with what is happening now with Garrard his time is ending with the Jaguars.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Del Rio is taking away some of Garrard’s ability to audible.

Considering that Garrard is not a rookie that means the Jaguars have lost confidence in him at quarterback.

At first it looked like Garrard would be the franchise quarterback as he had a stellar season.

Since, Garrard has been just merely average.

In the end if this doesn’t snap Garrard out of his funk then nothing will.

Schonert is Vindicated

November 3rd, 2009

Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron fired offensive coorsinator Turk Schonert right before the season.

Since, the Bills have proven what he said is true.

Schonert stated after he was fired that the problem with the offense was that it was made very basic at the direction od head coach Dick Jauron.

So, when the offense was terrible in the preseason Jauron fired Schonert in hopes that a different play caller would spark the offense.

The fact of the matter is that offenses must have ab ary of plays and formations in order to fool the defense and catch them out of position.

In the end the Bills playbook is so bad eveb Drew Brees would have a tough time throwing in it.

Can Raiders Really be Trusted

November 3rd, 2009

The Oakland Raiders announced yesterday that there will be a full investigation by the team into allegations that were made by two women that they were abused by head coach Tom Cable.

The fact of the matter is that this os the Oakland Raiders and they cannot be trusted.

The Raiders are notorius for lying as still to this day the club will deny things when first reported, which later would prove to be true.

also, they did nothing when the whole assault incident became public.

Most teams would suspend their head coaches with pay pending an investigation.

Also, the Raiders have stated before that ESPN fabricates things about them.

The fact of the matter is the Raiders will blow the whole thing off soon as they find one inconsistency.

In the end the Raiders are fooling nobody as the announcement is merely a public relations move.
