Tillman’s Story Should Teach a Lesson

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Many people are upset that Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Farve cannot decide when to stay retired.

With the news that the late Pat Tillman wanted to come back and play a lesson should be learned.

Football as violent and disabling as the game is, one of the greatest sports in the world.

There is no greater feeling after putting in a hard week of practice and having it all paid off on Sunday.

To hear that Tillman regreted joing the army and wanted to come back is not surprising.

People need to realize that we all live once and should play football as long as we can physically.

The reason is that once it passes you by you can never go back and play.

In the end once you play organized football it is in you like a drug.

Rams Linebacker Gets a Raw Deal

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The Saint Louis Rams have been informed that linebacker David Vobora will be suspended four games for a violation of the league’s performance enhancing substances.

It is clear that Vobora is getting a raw deal from the National Football League.

According to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com, a supplement that Vobora was taking was tainted with a substance that is on the NFL’s banned list.

Vobora was told by the league hotline to see if it was on the banned products list before taking it, which it was not.

The thing is how is Vobora responsible for this when neither the NFL or NFLPA knew that the supplement was tainted.

If a substance is being secretly put in the player will have no clue it is in there as it will not be on the label.

The league’s policy is that players are responsible for whatever they put in their bodies.

That is a complete load of manure.

So, what is next for Vobora?

You can expect the NFLPA to be all over this one as nobody was informed about problems with the supplement like Starcaps saga.

In the end you can expect another long knock out drag out fight that the League will surely lose.

49ers Need to Go to Two Backs

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The San Francisco 49ers have an outstanding running back in Frank Gore.

The problem is that Gore cannot handle being a fulltime running back.

Gore in week two hurt his ankle in a 200 yuard performance.

Now, Gore is out for up to three weeks.

Many other National Football League teams implement a two running back system to prevent incidents like this.

In the end Gore may not like it, but it is time for him to give up some carries.

Somethings Never Change

Monday, September 28th, 2009

The Arizona Cardinals took running back Chris Wells in this past April’s National Football League Draft to hopefully establish a running game.

Even with wells the Cardinals running game was not existent Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts.

Simply, it is quality offensive linemen that open up holes in the running game, unless you have a running back like former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders.

In the end if the Cardinals are going to make the playoffs they have to establish the running game.

Draft Prospects Better Take Note

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

The National Football League has seen its first major NFL Draft pick hold out in a very long time.

If future prospects don’t want to lose money like wide receiver Michael Crabtree will then they better take notes on the situation.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Crabtree’s agent Eugene Parker has come to the conclusion that his best interests are more important.

The fact of the matter is that Parker will not suggest to take the San Francisco 49ers contract offer, because doing so will make him look bad and give other agents ammunition to use against him.

The fact of the matter is that Parker has no developed a reputation that if his client doesn’t get what he wants he advise the player to hold out.

What will happen is that teams are now going to avoid drafting any of Parker’s clients, which means the loss of millions to Parker and his clients.

In the end if these players do not want to lose millions of dollars they need to use Parker as their agent, which means Crabtree needs to fire him today.

Seahawks Show their Stupidity

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Word broke in April that the Seattle Seahawks were going to go with a alternate jersey, which the team blew off as a April Fool’s joke.

With ESPN’s Chris Berman annoucing that the Seahawks will wear their alternate jersey Sunday the team has clearly shown their stupidity.

According to the reports in April the jerseys are hideous a lime green and blue color scheme.

Back then Seahawk fans voiced their displeasure over them.

What blows me away is that the team had almost six months to redesign the jerset.

What it shows is that the team does not have any common sense.

In the end if the Seahawks front office don’t get some common sense they will be in the NFC West basement for a long time.

Will Jackson Be the Next to Go

Friday, September 25th, 2009

The Saint Louis Rams earlier this year said goodbye to wide receiver Torry and Orlando Pace.

That has to leave one wondering of if Jackson gets hurt again will he be the next one to go?

Jackson the last two previous season has played in only 12 games each year.

That is not a good sign as at 26 years old Jackson is already starting to show signs of breakdown.

Each year a running back plays the pounding builds up until one year it their body just hits a wall and is unable to compete at the level it once performed at.

With the Rams being a bad team Jackson is going to take more of a pounding than usual.

In the end if the Rams were smart they would trade Jackson and use it as part of their rebuilding process.

Time for Seahawks to Move On

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck suffered a broken rib during last Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Simply, it is time for the Seahawks to move on.

Hasselbeck hurt himself diving for the endzone and was hit from behind, which resulted in the injury
Hasselbeck has been a staple and one of the main reasons why the Seahawks made the Superbowl.

However, there comes a point where you have to recognize that keeping a player is doing the team more harm than good.

That is the situation right now as Hasselbeck is constantly suffering injuries,

Also, one could argue that quarterback Seneca Wallace would be a better option considering his athletic ability, which should allow him to escape pass rushers.

In the end the Seahawks need to realize they are simply too old and need to rebuild.

Boldin Right to Sit Out

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin hurt his hamstring late in August, which now is still not fully healed.

In this case Boldin is right to sit out the regular season opener.

Boldin has been battling the Cardinals front office for either a new contract or to be traded.

That may lead many to believe he is most likely milking this injury to send a message.

Hamstring injuries are not to be messed with when it comes to wide receivers as without two good legs they are useless.

The Cardinals are stocked at wide receiver with Steve Breaston as the third wide receiver on the team.

What Cardinals fans should be more worried about is the slug at left tackle in Mike Gandy.

After seeing Gandy personally for two years with the Buffalo Bills Gandy is lucky to even be in the league as he was terrible with the Bills.

In the end with with starting quarterback Kurt Warner being 38 years old Cardinal fans need to worry about him making it through the season.

Davis Has Grown Up

Friday, September 11th, 2009

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is a tremendously talented player that has been hindered by his immaturity.

That has changed as Davis has finally grown up under head coach Mike Singletary.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Davis has been named a captain by the team.

Simply what happened has happened is that the coaching of Singletay hit home for Davis.

Singletary cited that his professionalism, work ethic, and the other qualities it takes to be a leader.

What that means is that Davis has been working his butt off and should have a huge year for the 49ers.

In the end with the development of Davis the 49ers could be a surprise contender in the NFC West.
