How Effective Will Crabtree Be?

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

The San Francisco 49ers amazongly somehow got 2009 National Football League first round draft pick Michael Crabtree signed.

With Crabtree making his first start this Sunday the question is how effective will Crabtree be.

Crabtree has missed a lot since it is week nine, but with Crabtree’s talent and if he works hard enough he can get caught up soon enough.

Also, the 49ers play in one of the weaker divisions in football in the NFC West.

Another factor is will teams roll their coverages makijng sure a cornerback and a safety are covering him.

In the end with Mike Singeltary being the head coach Crabtree should make an impact.

Hoe Effective Will Crabtree be?

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

The San Francisco 49ers has finally got first round draft pick wide receiver Michael Crabtree into the fold.

Now, the question is how effective can Crabtree be?

Wide receivers usually take three full seasons to become really effective.

There are some exceptions as there are sometimes a wide receiver will come in and be effective right away.

With Crabtree missing all of training camp and the first month of the season Crabtree most likely won’t be up to speed untol week eight of the season at the earliest.

In the end Crabtree can still salvage his season if he hauls in 30 catches for 500 yards receiving and five touchdows.

49ers Need to Go to Two Backs

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The San Francisco 49ers have an outstanding running back in Frank Gore.

The problem is that Gore cannot handle being a fulltime running back.

Gore in week two hurt his ankle in a 200 yuard performance.

Now, Gore is out for up to three weeks.

Many other National Football League teams implement a two running back system to prevent incidents like this.

In the end Gore may not like it, but it is time for him to give up some carries.

Draft Prospects Better Take Note

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

The National Football League has seen its first major NFL Draft pick hold out in a very long time.

If future prospects don’t want to lose money like wide receiver Michael Crabtree will then they better take notes on the situation.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Crabtree’s agent Eugene Parker has come to the conclusion that his best interests are more important.

The fact of the matter is that Parker will not suggest to take the San Francisco 49ers contract offer, because doing so will make him look bad and give other agents ammunition to use against him.

The fact of the matter is that Parker has no developed a reputation that if his client doesn’t get what he wants he advise the player to hold out.

What will happen is that teams are now going to avoid drafting any of Parker’s clients, which means the loss of millions to Parker and his clients.

In the end if these players do not want to lose millions of dollars they need to use Parker as their agent, which means Crabtree needs to fire him today.

Davis Has Grown Up

Friday, September 11th, 2009

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is a tremendously talented player that has been hindered by his immaturity.

That has changed as Davis has finally grown up under head coach Mike Singletary.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Davis has been named a captain by the team.

Simply what happened has happened is that the coaching of Singletay hit home for Davis.

Singletary cited that his professionalism, work ethic, and the other qualities it takes to be a leader.

What that means is that Davis has been working his butt off and should have a huge year for the 49ers.

In the end with the development of Davis the 49ers could be a surprise contender in the NFC West.

49ers Need to be Creative

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

The San Francisco 49ers have a real big problem on thier hands with the hold out of first round draft pick wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

With no sign of Crabtree caving the 49ers are going to have to get creative in order to get him signed.

Crabtree fell to the 10th spot as wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey was taken by the Raiders, which was a surprise since Crabtree was rated by most experts as better.

Crabtree himself knows that, which is the very reason why he is holding out as he thinks he deserves to get paid more.

There are only a couple options for the 49ers at this point and they are either cave to Crabtree, offer a insentive laced contract that could earn him what he wants, wait till he caves, or not sign him, which would allow him to reenter the draft.

In the end the only way the 49ers are going to sign Crabtree is giving him what he wants.

49ers Should be in San Francisco

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

The San Francisco 49ers are in the midst of putting a plan together for a new stadium.  The 49ers would be foolish to build the stadium outside of the city.

Right now the leading site for the new 49ers stadium is the city of Santa Clara, CA, which is 20 miles outside of the city.

The Buffalo Bills is the only other team that I know off hand that is outside of the city that it is named after as their stadium is 10 miles from the middle of downtown Buffalo in Orchard Park, NY.

Now, the city of Buffalo, along with every Western New Yorker, wants the Bills in downtown Buffalo, because several reasons.

Buffalo does have the Buffalo Bisons, Buffalo Sabres, which hosts a lot of concerts, theaters, and symphonies.

However, there is no greater impact than having a football team in the heart of your city.

The amount of revenue that flows into a city is grearter than all those combined, because those games increase the demand for local restaurants, parking, and other stores that fans going to the game needs.

With more businesses doing business that means more property taxes for the city.

If the 49ers were to move then there are going to be some businesses that will close, which means lost revenue.

That translates into a budget deficate for the city, which lawmakers will compensate for by cutting teachers, emergency responders, or other government officials.

In the end the city of San Francisco needs to get its act together or they will feel the loss for decades to come.

Singletary is What the 49ers Needed

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

News has come out that San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is not good at running routes.  The hiring of Mike Singletary as the head coach is just what the team needed.

Singletary took over last year during the regular season on October 20th, 2008 from his predecessor Mike Nolan who left him a pretty big mess.

It became apparent last year that the team was a mess when Davis was sent to the lockerroom during a game when he engaged Singletary in an argument.

According to the San Francisco Gate Chronicle, Davis is not running routes properly and that only cements that 49er players are into some really bad habits when preparing for games.

When that occurs you need a tough disciplinarian to come in and institute routines that are vital to succeed in the National Football League.

Singletary isn’t going to have an easy time with instituting his rules as people hate change.

It is especially tougher when it comes to putting in place tougher rules.

So, it will be a couple more seasons before 49er fans see a considerable change.

The 49ers are Foolish

Monday, June 8th, 2009

The Philadelphia Eagles for the past several year have been experiencing problems with player’s contracts.  Unfortunately, the San Francisco 49ers are following that same path.

The Eagles are having problems, because several years ago they signed young players to very long term contracts.

Now, these players are realizing that this was a mistake as their contract does not even come close to reflecting the current market.

The 49ers signed last week offensive tackle Joe Staley to a contract extension.  Now Staley is under contract for the next nine years.

The same thing happened to Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters when he was with the Buffalo Bills.

Peters prior to the 2006 season signed a contract extension through 2010 as a right offensive tackle.

Then in the middle of the 2006 season Peters was switched from right tackle to left tackle and went on to make the Pro Bowl in 2007 and 2008,

When Peters made the Pro Bowl his contract became obsolete, which prompted him to ask for a new contract, which fell on deaf ears in the Bills organization.

Ultimately, the Bills went on to trade Peters earlier this offseason as they felt he was not worth the money that he was asking for, thus trading him to the Eagles.

There are many examples of this, and if there are not provisions of the allowment of adjusting the contractat, or voiding it, then the 49ers will have the same kind of head aches.

49ers Desperation Will Prove Costly

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

The San Francisco 49ers at the scouting combine brought a psychologist to handle their portion of the 15 minutes they get with each prospect.  That move is one that will prove costly.

The biggest news to come out of this move was the fact that quarterback prospect Matt Stafford told the team that he is not talking about his parents divorce.  Along with questions about the incident from the media, enraged head coach Mike Singeltary.

The problem is that other psychologists are blasting the 49ers.

Dr. John F. Murray, an author and sports psychologist told SI.com, “It’s inappropriate to kind of shove a psychologist in somebody’s face at the last second for a particular test.”

The fact of the matter is that the 49ers have gone down the toilet ever since former head coach Steve Marriucci departure from the team.

In the past the 49ers coaches called the shots in the draft, which started under the legendary coach Bill Walsh.

Like many other teams the front office is running the show now.

49er fans should be enraged with the team if Stafford is available when they pick and pass on him.

The 49ers are desperate and feel the pressure.  However, if they were to go to their old system they in how the scouted and drafted players they would be fine.
