Raiders Offense Will Take TimeThe Oakland Raiders passing game has looked terrible through two games.
Unfortunately, Raiders fans are going to have to wait a while for it to get better.
The problem with the offense is that the starting quarterback and wide receivers have three years or less playing experience.
That means route running, timing, and chemistry is off right now.
The thing is those things take time and experience to develop through practice an games.
It is understandably maddening to see a quarterback struggling in his third year.
In the end Raiders fans just need to remember the team is a mess and will take some time to become elite once again.

Somethings Never ChangeThe Oakland Raiders looked liked they finally came to their senses with the trade for defensive end Richard Seymour.
That thinking proved to be wrong as the Raiders are up to their old tricks.
Reports are that Raider spokesman John Herrera attampted to ban former Oakland Raider quarterback Rich Gannon due to his critical comments of the team.
CBS of course refused to give into the demands citing that he has been fair and objective.
This isn’t Herrera’s first incident as he berrated a reporter last year after a news conference.
In the end it is simply time for Herrera to go.

Finally A Step in the Right DirectionThe Oakland Raiders stunned the National Football League when they traded for defensive end Richard Seymour.
With Seymour reporting to the team right before the regular season opener against the San Diego Chargers the Raiders have finally taken a step in the right direction.
Seymour could be the final piece of what could be a a revamped defensive line that will bring the Raiders defense back to respectability.
In the end if the defense can live up to its potential it could vault the Raiders into the playoffs by winning the division.
The Raiders already have to quality defensive tackles in Gerrard Warren and Tommy Kelly.
Then in the June they signed defensive end Gregg Ellis after he was cut from the Dallas Cowboys.

Things Just Get Weirder for the RaidersFor some reason thing for the Oakland Raiders just keep getting worst as time goes on.
As the 2009 regular season has not commenced things are already turning ugly for the Raiders.
According to AOL’s Fanhouse, Raiders head coach Tom Cable allegedly punched defensive assistant Randy Hanson in the jaw.
Police did ask Hanson who his attacker was, but Hanson has refused to do so.
Hanson not naming anybody doesn’t mean it will end there as National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell will surely have his security team investigate the matter.
Once Goodell finds out who it is you can bet that person is going to be suspended for violating the Personal Conduct policy.
The problem is that this isn’t the first incident not involving a player as last year a front office employee of the Raiders almost came to blows with a reporter.
In the end if it is Cable the Raiders’ chances will surely be in jeopardy as they take on all three division rivals in the first three weeks of the regular season.

Are the Raiders Foolish EnoughThe Oakland Raiders took Jamarcus Russell with the first overall pick in the 2007 National Football League Draft. With the current transaction that the Raiders have made they might be foolish enough to bench him.
Russell was average for most of the season, but in the final three games of the season he looked as if he finally got things as he threw for 626 yards passing, six touchdowns, two interceptions for a 104.23 quarterback rating.
Then this offseason head coach Tom Cable called him out, which Russell responded to by calling extra practice sessions with wide receivers.
Just when things were looking on the up in typical Raiders fashion things go crazy.
First, Garcia went on record stating that he expects to be the starting quarterback.
Secondly, the Raiders signed Greg Ellis to be their defensive end in their 4-3 system when he played outside linebacker in a 3-4 with the Dallas Cowboys last year.
Finally, this past week the the Raiders cut 2009 NFL Draft sixth round pick Stryker Sulak without any notification to him or his agent, which is a first in the NFL.
In the end anything can happen with the Raiders, because they are fruitier than a fruit salad.

When Will Davis LearnOakland Raiders owner Al Davis will do anything to win. The thing is Davis is still trying to do it the wrong way.
Davis for some reason is still continuing to try and build the Riaders thru free agency. That time and time again for him has failed.
According to NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora Davis’s Raiders spent the 11th most amount of money on players salaries at $513.21 million and had the highest average player’s salaries cost per a win at $25.66 million per a win.
It is just mind blowing how someone can contiue to mess things up as Davis has and he is still ruining his franchise.
First, there is the story about their center as they let a solid center in Jake Grove walk to sign with the Miami Dolphins.
Then to make matters worse they pick up Samson Satele in a trade from the Dolphins who Grove replaced.
Also, there is the move to sign quarterback Jeff Garcia who is nothing like current starter Jamarcus Russell, and thinks that he is going to start this year.
The problem with that is Russell came on at the end of the season and looked like he was catching on. Also, this offseason he has been a leader by calling together other wide receivers and quarterbacks together to get their timing down.
Then there is the problem that Davis has in signing his own free agents as he overspent on cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and punter Shane Lechler were resigned for nothing short of a stupid contract that only actor Jim Carey’s character in the movie Dumb and Dumber would do.
In the end the only way things will change is when Davis passes on as he is not going to ever relinquish control to someone else.

The Oakland Raiders have been a laughing stock ever since Jon Gruden left the team for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It has gotten so bad that players do not even trust the medical staff.
It is already terrible enough Raider fans to see their favorite team take a player seventh overall in this past April’s National Football League Draft that had no business being their in wide receiver Darrius Howard-Bey. It is even worst when players on the Raiders go somewhere else for medical advice.
On Friday Radiers head coach Tom Cable let it be known that wide receier Javon Walker had surgery on his knee last month, and only told the team a few days ago.
However, Walker is not the only player as running back Darren Mcfadden had shoulder surgery January 17th and did not disclose the team about the surgery as well until a month later.
So, what would cause players not to trust the doctors? The medical staff had to of messed up on a player, or players, that of course leads to word getting around about the messup. That ultimately leads players to believe that they are better off going somewhere else.
There is only one way for Raiders owner Al Davis to fix this mess. That is letting a football guy take over operations of the team and make the right calls that he is unable to do anymore. That of course means a total house cleaning.

Raiders Moves are a MockeryThe Oakland Raiders have been active once again this season. However, they are still the laughing stock of the league.
Another ridiculous offseason started for the Raiders with the resigning of punter Shane Lechler and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Both players signed record breaking contracts for their position.
You can pretty much bet as good as those two are they will not see the end of their contracts.
Then after that they cut ties with most of the players from their free agent shopping spree last year. Only those that took pay cuts like wide reciever Javon Walker remained.
Then they let starting center Jake Grove go sign with the Miami Dolphins. That was followed by trading for the Dolphins garbage in center Samson Satele.
Finally, they sign quarterback Jeff Garcia as a backup to starting quarterback Jamarcus Russell.
The problem is that Garcia does not fit the offensive system they have, because he has no arm. Also, the Raiders are a non West Coast offense team.
The only decent move they made was tackle Khalif Barnes.
With the National Football League Draft coming up there is sure to be more drama to come.

Tom Cable Hiring the Right Move for OaklandThe Oakland Raiders are one of the last teams to have filled their void at the head coaching position. They finally filled it by making last season’s interim head coach Tom Cable the full time head coach.
Cable was the right move for the Raiders considering the way that the season ended. It ended with two straight wins for the Raiders.
More importantly was the play of starting quarterback Jamarcus Russell. Russell up to the last three weeks of the season was inconsistent.
Then after a embarrassing week 14 loss to the San Diego Chargers something happened to Russell. That being Russell looked like a pro.
You have to give the credit to Cable, because at that point in the season Cable took over the playcallind duties on offense. After that Cable seemingly figured out Russell, and finally got him going.
In Russell’s last three games he threw for 626 yards with six toucdowns and only two interceptions.
If Cable can get Russell to be a consistent performer, then the Raiders will be able to push for the division.
