According to the San Diego Union Tribune, via ProFootballlTalk.com, former San Diego Chargers quarterback Ryan Leaf is near a plea deal with Randall County prosecutors after being indicted on nine different charges.

Considering the circumstances surrounding the case Leaf should have to learn the hard way of the consequences of drug addiction.

As an assistance coach of West Texas A&M, Leaf broke into a players apartment and stole pain killers to feed his addiction to hydrocodone.

Sometimes an addiction is so strong that the only way for a person to overcome it is a strong wake up call.

Motley Crue bassist Nikky Sixx heart stopped from a heroin overdose.

After paramedics revived him and a short stay at the hospital Sixx checked himself out and went home.

When he got home Sixx shot himself up again and fell asleep.

When he woke up he saw the needle in his arm and realized he had a problem.

Its usually instances like these or jail time that a person that has a severe drug addiction realizes their problem.

According to the report, prosecutors say Leaf has a 50-50 chance at jail time.

In the end, if Leaf doen’t serve jail time and doesn’t get help then the next time he is arrested the book should be thrown at him.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, via ProFootballTalk.com, the Kansas City Chiefs resigned wide receiver Chris Chambers.

The move should be beneficial for both parties.

According to the report the deal is three years for $15 million with. $5.9 million bonus.

Chambers is not the same player he was with the Miami Dolphins, but he can still be an effective player.

The Chiefs are rebuilding and need a number two wide receiver to compliment wide receiver Dwayne Bowe.

As for Chambers there are not going to be a lot of teams out there that need a wide receiver.

In the end both parties needed each other.

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune, the San Diego Chargers tendered starting left tackle Marcus McNeil to the highest possible level.

Still is that enough to keep team from trying to sign McNeil?

The two most sought after positions on offense are quarterbacks and left tackles.

McNeil has proven to be one of the better starting left tackles in the National Football League.

That could attract a team like the Seattle Seahawks or other teams that pick in the top ten of the upcoming NFL Draft as the amount of money they have to shell out for picking there will be just about equal to what McNeil will get.

Signing a player that has the highest level tender will require a team to give up a first and a third round draft pick.

In the end with McNeil only turning 27 years old it would be well worth it.

Good night and good luck.

The Denver Broncos may have a different man at head coach in Josh McDaniels.

However, they still find trouble just like they used to under head coach Mike Shanahan.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, running back Knowshon Moreno is being investigated for allegedly hitting someone outside a bar.

The fact of the matter is that the punishment for violating the Personal Conduct Policy is not tough enough to make players think twice.

In the end the NFL needs to toughen the punishment up or things will only get worst.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune, via ProFootballTalk.com, the San Diego Chargers will not use the restricted franchise tag on on running back Darren Sproles.

The question is now what is next for the Chargers?

According to the report, the Chargers want to sign Sproles to a long term contract, but just not at the current price as they feel he is just a complementary running back.

Of course that means Sproles will hit free agency as he most likely feels he is a starter.

With no current starting running back Chargers general manager AJ Smith and his scouts are probably evaluating upcoming available free agents and calling teams to see if a player for example like New York Jets running back Thomas Jones is available.

If they cannot get one either which way they will then turn to the April’s upcoming National Football League Draft is suppose to be deep.

That means the Chargers could get a solid starter in the second or third rounds.

In the end luckily they have quarterback Phillip Rivers.

Good night and good luck.

According to the Denver Post the trial of Willie Clark on the charge of the murder of former Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams has started.

Will his family finally get justice?

Its been over three years since that fateful event and for the family it has to feel like an eternity.

The sad thing is that this should have never happened.

According to the testimony of Williams friend John Sheppard, the whole thing started when Blair Clark, who is the cousin of Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall, sprayed champagne over the crowd.

I can understand any other night at the club that shouldn’t be happening, but this was on New Years Eve.

Things get thrown, dumped, and sprayed everywhere.

If Clark felt that disrespected he should of challenged Clark to a fight outside.

Anyone with a little training can pick up and use a gun.

In the end it takes a real man to look another person in the eyes and then take him out in hand to hand combat.

We all knew how the death of former Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams affected Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker when he was with the Broncos at the time.

Aparently, it has also affected Broncos wide receiver Bramdon Marshall.

According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, via ProFootballTalk.com, Marshall wants to leave due to the Williams murder and due to head coach Josh McDaniels, or anything else.

According to the report, Marshall feels guilty over the death due to the fact that he got into an altercation at the club that the three were at celebrating New Years Day.

Most likely Mrashall thinks that the bullets that killed Williams were for him.

Is it possible?

Yes, as the person on trial for Williams murder is Willie Clark who if I remember correctly was apart of a gang.

What Marshall needs do is remind himself is that its okay as it was meant to be and that Williams is in a better place playing football again.

In the end hopefully Marshall will one day get the help he needs.

Thr Kansas City Chiefs are coming off of a bad year under head coach Todd Haley.

With even the offense struggling last year one has to wonder how long can the Chiefs struggle before Haley gets fired.

The Chiefs were a bad team before Haley took over, so it was not expected that they would do much.

However, once the Chiefs get more weapons for quarterback Matt Cassel, along some playmakers on defense, expectations will be raised.

If the Chiefs were to still struggle then the process towards Haley getting fired would begin.

In the end it will be at least several seasons before the Chiefs have a winning season.

Another hard lesson

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, via ProFootballTalk.com, San Diego Chargers cornerback Antonio Rodgers Cromartie has lost a grievance filed against him for not paying his former agent Jason Fletcher.

With the loss Cromartie is learning a hard lesson in life.

Cromartie has seven children spread across five states, which means that he has most likely run out of money.

Just because you are a football player in the National Football League doesn’t mean that there will be an endless flow of money.

The fact of the matter is that even the littlest mistake adds up and Cromartie’s mistakes are not little, so it is not a surprise that he ran out of money.

In the end it don’t matter how much money you make or who you are if you make one wrong move you can lose it all.

The lawsuits between Tila Nguyen, who is known as Tila Tequila, and San Diego Chagers linebacker Shawne Merriman have been resolved, according to the San Diego Union Tribune, via ProFootballTalk.com.

As muich as Tequila wants to claim that she was right the fact of the matter is that Merriman settled it to make it go away.

Tequila on her Twitter page is blabbing about the case when usually there are clauses in settlement agreements for both parties to keep their mouth shut.

You can expect for some of those tweets to be deleted by Tequila soon.

Merriman did the right thing even though his pride probably told him not to.

With Merriman about to become a restricted free agent he didn’t need a distraction like this hanging over him.

In the end the truth may never be told, but I can assure you that what really happened was probably somewhere in the middle.
