The Breeding Ground

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

National Football League locker rooms are breeding grounds for viruses and bacteria as 65 players are crammed into close quarters.

There is no greater example of this than the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns earlier this week saw 12 players copme down with the flu.

Normally, that would be blown off to just being the flu season.

However, this is the Browns and they are notorius for a breeding ground of diseases.

The Browns have been hampered by staph infections as for several years now they have had at least one case.

It is obvious that most likely that the culprit of their problems is that someone who cleans the lockerroom is not using proper cleaning proceedures.

I know this from operating at one time a cleaning business and there are all sorts of horror stories; like someone cleaning hotel roonms using a brush to clean a toilet and then using that very same brush to clean the coffee pots.

In the end the Browns front office needs to bunker down and go over all the proper cleaning proceedures that the cleaners use.

2009 Week Five Browns Commentary

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

The Cleveland Browns got their first win of the season as they beat the Buffalo Bills.

The Browns still have a long ways to go, but there is some signs of life on the Browns.

First, they have one heck of an offensive line as they held the Bills to only one sack.

The wide receivers did not help quarterback Derek Anderson at all as they dropped passes all day.

Defensively, the Browns need some better talent as they are over due to be addressed.

In the end what is killing the Browns is the play of their quarterbacks as even average play from them gets a lot more wins for the Browns.

Browns Fans Deserve Better

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Cleveland Brows fans are very loyal and passionate fans.

With what has transpired this year Browns fans deserve better.

On Wednesday the Browns traded wide receiver Braylon Edwards for two players and two draft picks.

Before the season the Browns traded away tight end Kellen Winslow.

In the ended the Browns are a mess that fans don’t deserve.

Will the Browns win a Game

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The Cleveland Browns are a team that is just simply a mess in all three units.

It makes this reporter wonder of they will even win a game in 2009.

Their problems offensively is two folds.

First, running back Jamaal Lewis is in the twighlight of his career and is simply not the runner he once was.

Secondly, the trade of tight end Kellen Winslow Jr has decimated their passing game as they don’t have another option outside wide receiver Braylon Edwards

Defensively, the Browns don’t have any playmakers outside Shaun Rodgers.

With head coach fining players for the most stupidest things you have a recipe for a big mess.

In the end the Browns could become team number two to run the table the wrong way.

Mangini Sending Wrong Message

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

The Cleveland Browns brought in head coach Eric Mangini to install some discipline into the team.

Mangini however sent the wrong message in a joke gone wrong.

According to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, a couple of Brown players decided to play a joke on rookie cornerback Coye Francies.

Francies did not like the joke at all and showed it by throwing a bucket of ice and a couple of punches that missed.

Mangini reponded to the incident by doing bothing.

The fact of the matter is that it was hazing and no matter what the level of sport it is that cannot be tolerated.

What the incident shows is that therev will be no consequences for bad behavior.

In the end it shows that Mangini doesn’t deserve to be a head coach.

Browns are the New Raiders

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

The Oakland Raiders for the past several years have had to overpay unrestricted free agents just to get them to play for their team.

Just when you thought that nobody could take that spot away from the Raiders reports are coming out that the Cleveland Browns have taken that away.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, agents are now steering their clients clear of the Browns.

There are a bunch of reasons to do so.

First, there is the rookie road trip that Mangini reportedly forced rookies to take, then there is the broken promise that the Browns would redo wide receiver Josh Cribbs deal, and the numerous broken promises that Mangini broke while head coach.

That means not only will the Browns have trouble singing free agents they are also going to have trouble signing their own players.

In the end no matter what amount of money a player makes it is simply not worth playing for the Browns.

Media Going Overboard with Browns News

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

ESPN’s John Clayton reported earlier this week that during a scrimmage this past Sunday quarterback Brady Quinn cheated.

The fact of the matter is the media is going overboard with it as this is nothing knew.

During the scrimmage the radio communication device that quarterbacks listen to in their helmets for plays broke, thus quarterback Derek Anderson had to use hand signals.

Then apparently Quinn was telling his fellow white team players on defense what those hand signals are.

The fact of the matter is that is nothing new as defensive players are always listening and looking to get an edge on opponents through snap counts, hand signals, and body language.

The thing is that opposing teams can know exactly what each other is going to do, but the reality is that it doesn’t matter as what it really comes down to is execution.

The Browns should be pleased with the news as they now know that Quinn will do whatever it takes win.
In the end they now know that the hopes with drafting Quinn to be their franchise quarterback could very well come true.

Stallworths Accident Would of Happen Anyways

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Many people are blaming Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth’s drinking and marijuana use as the main culprits for the accident that resulted in a man being killed.  The fact of the matter is that even if he was sober the accident would have still happened.

Working in the transportation industry I have seen similar cases like this time and time again.  The reason is that my employer has to give us refersher courses on safety, since I work for a bus company.

People in a hurry do not pay attention to their surroundings, which gets children and adults killed.

All of us in the bus transportation industry are warned to watch out for kids darting in between cars to get to their bus, because you cannot see them.

Not having seent the video as it is sealed, just hearing the report that the victim was jay walking to catch a bus, which leads me to believe he was running in between cars to catch it.

Since he was running in between the cars even if Stallworth would of been sober he still would of hit the person.

Now, do not get me wrong I am not making any excuses for Stallworth as there is no reason to drink and drive the amount of money National Football League players make.

In the end as studies have shown people are usually distracted while driving, which means that this horrible incident would of happen any which ways.

Prison is a Mind Away

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth killed a man one morning while driving under the influence.  Many people may think that stallworth got off easy, but in reality he will suffer the rest of his life.

We train and condition our minds everyday with phrases and things we learn.

Some of those things can be good and some can be bad depending on the way you look at it, or even say it.

People that were put in the complete darkness of solitary confinement at Alcatraz kept themselves from going insane by imagining that they were not in prison.

Killing a person is a image that a normal person will never be able to get out of their mind.

Stallworth not only will go to jail for 30 days, but will be on probation after that for another ten years, which two is house arrest.

Also, Stallworth will never be able to drive a car again as his license has been revoked permantly.  Unless you have enough money that you can hire a chauffer to drive you.

Then there is the National Football League as commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended Stallworth indefinitely.

It will be an amazing accomplishment if Stallworth play in the NFL again just from the number of obstacles that he has to deal with physically and mentally.

Browns are a Mess

Monday, May 18th, 2009

The Cleveland Browns are being led now by a new general manager and head coach.  Even though the front office changes the Browns are still a mess.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Cleveland Browns general manager George Konkis is not fullfilling promises that the previous regime had made.

That has already made wide receiver and kick returned Josh Cribbs upset as he intends to skip voluntary OTA’s for the Browns failure to redo his contract after the Brown promised to do so previously.

The problem is that ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that even Browns owner Randy Lerner promised soemthing will be done with his contract even after general manager Phil Savage and head coach Romeo Crennel were fired.

Konkis needs to wake up, because the frikin owner even promised Cribbs and if the owners word means nothing than nobody is going to play for the Cleveland Browns ever as long as Lerner is the owner.

You simply do not come onto a job and say sorry your out of luck, because that was them.

What you do is sit down with the player listen to him and explain the situation, which is that they are new and are still evaluating players, but will do something after the upcoming season, since he still has four years left on his contract.

If they cannot do this then they need to be shown the door no matter how long and how much they have left on their contract.
