First Dances Now Poses

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

The National Football League first took away elaborate touchdown celebrations.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, they have now taken away any poses that depicts a product.

The NFL has ruled that players are no longeer able to pose in ways that promotes a certain products.

This comes in light of Philadelphia Eagles tight end posing as Captain Morgan after scoring a touchdown.

However, let’s call this what this is as it is simply the NFL closing advertising gaps where companies wouldn’t have to pay the NFL.

In the end it is simply the NFL being its usual greedy selves.

Another Reason for Jauron’s Dismissal

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

This morning as I usually do I go through my sites looking for material and as I read The Buffalo News’ Jerry Sullivan,s column something dawned on me.

Simply, there is now another reason for Jauron to be dismissed.

Sullivan in his article Thursday suggested that head coach Dick Jauron should stand up and confront Owens for his agents comments.

The fact of the matter is that if it was those comments were made in regard to coaches like Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid or Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher Owens would find himself parked on the bench, or a angry coach in his face at least.

The fact of the matter is that Jauron is a whimp and do nothing.

The fact of the matter is that Owens is reponsible for whatever his agent says as he hired agent Drew Rosenhaus.

In the end the Bills need to cut Owens as things will get worst.

Just Pathetic

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

The New York Jets took outside linebacker Vernon Gholston to be an impact player.

Gholston has been nothing but just plain pathetic.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Gholston was hurt during a walkthrough in practice Wednesday.

That is just simply an indicator of how bad it has been.

In his defense this year he has started only three games.

Also, there is no reason why not to bring him in on obviius passing downs.

In the end the only true way to find out about Gholston is a bust I’d playing him.

Can the 49ers Walk the Walk?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis talked the talk stating he thinks the 49ers should be able to destroy the Chicago Bears offensive line.

With Davis talking the talk now he has to back it up buy walk the walk.

Anybody can talk trash and lose, but truly good teams

The 49ers have the talent to dominate at the line of scrimmage.

In the end they just need to reach down deep and do it.

A Sad Day

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

According to Beckett, via ProFootballTalk.com, it has been learned that Topps will no longer be making football cards.

For many adults this is truly a sad day.

According to the reports, the National Football League Players Association’s marketing branch, Players Incorporated, only granted license to Upper Deck and Panini.
Topps for a long time was the only football card maker untill the 1990’s when the market exploded.

For me it is hard to take this as my first cards ever was a 1987 Topps football set, which I still have.

In the end it is just a reminder that nothing lasts forever.

Will Harvin’s Migraines Shorten Career?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin earlier this year was hampered by migraines.

With Harvin yet again looking like he is again suffering from migraines one has to wonder if this will cut his career short?

The human brain is still a mystery to many scientists.

Depending on the severity of the migraine they can be disabling.

If Harvin were to suffer a couple of concussion then most likey the severity and the frequency of the migraines will be greater.

In the end if Harvin doesn’t get the triggers for his migraines under control his career is going to done before it even really got started.

Flu Notice

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Being a parent in the Hamburg Central school district I know all too well about flu.

Its only October and it has ravaged the Armor Elementry as 75 student were ill Monday.

Then today I found out my kids were hit with it.

If you child is has a sore throat or fever keep them home as you will only make matters worst.

Also get a flu shot as it is important factor in fighting it.

If you have questions about vaccines always consult your doctor.

Hamburg School District is Hurting Athletes

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Living out in Hamburg I found out that the Hamburg School District decided to put in the artificial grass on the football field.

What they are doing is setting up athletes for injuries.

Just because the new form of astro turf looks like grass doesn’t mean it is any safer.

The fact of the matter is that it is astro turf, which means there is no give In it.

When a player gets their foot caught in grass the groud gives away eventually, thus preventing injury to the player.

In regards to astro turf there is no give, so when a player gets their cleat stuck they usually wind up tearing their knee.

Schools are suppose to take measures to protect their children.

With Hamburg that is not the case.

In the end the school won’t save money, because they will be sued by parents whose child life is affected forever.

CTE Just Not A NFL Problem

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Players and fans of the National Football League are learning about the impact of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy from former NFL players that have died prematurely.

Simply, this is not a problem just for the NFL, but all levels of football.

The cause of CTE is from concussions and the constant impact of football players’ brains.

I know all to well the problems that this can cause I myself suffere from many minor concussions in my senior year of football.

Now, due to this I will suffer from depression and anxiety the rest of my life.

In the end it is time for all levels of football to take actions to limit the chances of players developing this.
