The Buffalo Bills have had quite the offseason at the quarterback position. The one thing that comes to mind when I think about the position is that patience will be a virtue.
The roller coaster started when the Bills traded away quarterback Tyrod Taylor. The rumor during the 2017 Nfl season that the Bills would make a move. However, trading Taylor was a very unexpected since he led the to their first playoff appearance in over a decade.
The trade left many to wonder what the team will do for a starter when free agency opened.
That left some people hoping for the top free agents that were available at quarterback. With Washington Redskins Kirk Cousins and Minnesota Vikings Keenum available, the team could of made a commitment to taking the next step in the playoffs while still looking toward the future. However, the Bills went with backup Cincinnatti Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron.
That didn’t matter to Bills fans as their eyes were all tuned to what was going to happen in the 2018 NFL Draft.
As ths Draft approached many were hoping for UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen. However, many were disappointed when they heard the Bills took Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen.
The difference between the two is that Rosen is more accurate than Allen. That is a huge thing for many Bills fans as they have seen a over 20 years of inaccurate quarterbacks. So, Rosen to many would have been a breath of fresh air.
Thankfully, the Bills have time with the signing of McCarron. They can take all the time they need to correct an mechanical problems.
In the end, as the saying goes patience will be a virtue.
