The New England Patriots over the last couple years have been making early exits in the post season.
If they are going to make another deep run with quarterback Tom Brady then they will need to concentrate on defense in April’s National Football League Draft.
The Patriots have one big weakness, that being they have no pass rush. Before last season their main pass rusher was defensive end Richard Seymour who they traded to the Oakland Raiders before the 2009 regular season.
In today’s NFL it is all about the quarterback and the fact is that your defense will not be successful if you don’t get a pass rush on the quarterback. With all the rule changes and passing offenses becoming more and more complicated if a team doesn’t get a pass rush a defense will get picked apart by the quarterback.
In the end, head coach Bill Belichick is still running the show there in New England, so it is anyone’s guess who they will take.
