Forget about the offense

Standard

The Buffalo Bills were thoroughly manhandled by the Minnesota Vikings Sunday losing 38-14.

The fact of the matter is the Bills most glaring need is solidifying their run defense.

The Bills run defense was horrid once again as it allowed Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to rush for 107 yards on 16 carries for 6.7 yards per an attempt average.  You can have Tom Brady as the quarterback for the Bills and they are still not going to win.

Many Bills fans have forgotten that they had one of the best offenses in the National Football League that led them to four straight Superbowls. However, as good as the offense was the Bills lost four straight Superbowls, because the defense couldn’t stop the run.

When a team runs the football most of the time it controls the time of possession. That in turn allows the defense to minimize the number of attempts an offense has. So far this year, the Bills have won the battle for time of possession twice against the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Seeing the run defense just fold week after week just makes me want to puke at times. Lets face it the offense performed bad Sunday due to the fact that they were already missing starting right guard Eric Wood and lost center Geoff Hangartner to a knee injury early in the contest

In the end, offense wins games defense wins championships.
