The Buffalo Bills announced today that they have reached an injury settlement with linebacker Kawika Mitchell.
Simply, the Bills will be regret losing Mitchell.
Mitchell with his long hair and bad ass attitude fit in well as the people of this city are blue collar hard working people. For evidence of that you have to look no further of the Buffalo Sabres teams of the 1990’s under then head coach Ted Nolan as they weren’t very skilled, but were tough as nails, and fans loved every minute of it.
Mitchell was a unique individual as most of the Bills are just soft at times and his attitude brought some much needed grit to the defense.
Unfortunately, Mitchell has been bitten by the injury bug the last two year as in 2009 he tore his quadriceps muscle. Then this year just prior to the regular season Mitchell suffered a foot injury, which again landed him on injured reserve.
Obviously, Mitchell wants to play and who can blame him as two years is eternity to a football player.
In the end, the Bills should have just kept Mitchell on the open roster as this is a team that can use every quality player it can get.
