Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s four game suspension has created an opportunity for someone to show what they got, which is quarterback Dennis Dickson.
Simply, if Dixon is ever going to be a fulltime starting quarterback in the National Football League it is now or never.
Dixon was taken in the fifth round of the 2008 National Football League Draft, but was projected to go higher until he tore his knee up in his final year of college.
Dixon last year started one time last year for Roethlisberger as he missed it due to injury, and in that game he showed some promise.
That means if Dixon was to show that he has what it takes to be a star in the NFL he would surely supplant Roethlisberger whose behavior is troubling off the field.
In the end, everyone is replaceable.
