End of the road for Coles

Standard

Wide receiver Laveranues Coles was released by the New York Jets earlier today, and is now contemplating retirement.

Even if he doesn’t retire it is most likely the end for Coles.

Last year with the Cincinnati Bengals Coles caught 43 passes for 514 yards and five touchdowns.

In 2005 with the Jets Coles caught 70 passes for 850 yards and seven touchdowns.

Clearly Coles is in the decline stage of his career and very few teams will take a chance on a old washed up receiver.

In the end, at least if Coles retires now he still will have some dignity left.
