Bills starting quarterback won’t be decided anytime soon

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey has put up the starting quarterback position up for grabs earlier this year.

If Bills fans are hoping a quarterback will be decided anytime soon they can forget about it.

Gailey stated a couple days ago that no quarterback has an edge as the bullets aren’t flying yet.

He confirmed this notion today as in the first practice Gailey had quarterback Brian Brohm take all the first team snaps.

There was another report on the internet that stated quarterback Trent Edwards has looked good, but I could care less about that as Edwards has looked good in practice all the time before to the point he convinced some National Football League experts he would eventually become a franchise quarterback.

I myself think that Edwards is capable of that, but I feel that former head coach Dick Jauron messed things up on offense last year it is hard to tell if it was Edward’s fault or Jauron’s fault.

In the end, everyone is on hold until training camp starts in late July.

Bills got lucky

In the early session of mini camp practice Saturday offensive tackle Ed Wang collided with another teammate and suffered what was described as a serious leg injury as he was carted off the field.

However, it looks like the Bills got lucky.

According to Pro Football Talk, the early diagnosis on Wang is that is just a high ankle sprain.

Confirmation of this cannot be done just yet as the magnetic resonance imaging results will not be reviewed until tomorrow.

This is most likely the case as after the second practice Bills head coach Chan Gailey was asked if he knew anything on Wang, which he replied no to.

In the end, either the National Football League needs to crack down on practices or make contact legal, since it is not allowed in organized team activities, as players are pushing the envelope on this to impress coaches.
