According to ProFootballTalk.com, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll posted glowing remarks about former Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen. That begs the question is Carroll brilliant or an idiot.
Usually at this time teams are very tight lipped about what they think about draft prospects.
So, that most likely means that Carroll’s comments are just merely part of a plan to get a team that to trade up to draft Clausen in order to trade down and get more picks.
In the end, this upcoming National Football League Draft is getting more and more interesting by the day.
According to Kelly Naqi of ESPN, via ProFootballTalk.com, Ocmulgee,Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright will announce Monday at a 2P.M. press conference that charges will not be filed against Ben Roethlisberger. However, Roethlisberger isn’t out of the woods just yet.
Obviously, all of the National Football League will tune into to hear what Bright believes as he could believe Roethlisberger is guilty of sexual assault, but there isn’t enough evidence to prove it against top notch lawyers.
What Roethlisberger will need to worry about is NFL commissioner Roger Goodell as this is Roethlisberger’s second incident, which means he will most likely be suspended for four games.
To be honest he is lucky as he should be suspended for a year for sheer stupidity and abuse of power.
With this being his second incident it is obvious that Roethlisberger is going out and picking up women who probably don’t realize that he is looking for simply a one night stand.
Now don’t get me wrong I am not saying he shouldn’t hook up. What I am saying is that there are a ton of women out there that are willing to hook up with a NFL player and usually they aren’t afraid to approach them.
However, for Roethlisberger this isn’t enough as it is about the game meaning the hooking up with a woman that normally wouldn’t hook up on a one night stand.
In the end, if Roethlisberger doesn’t get professional help we will be talking anout a similar incident again in a couple of months.
On April 22nd of this month National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell will be saying these words to announce who the Buffalo Bills have select at ninth overall. Them being, ” With the ninth pick overall in the 2010 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills select Dan Williams defensive tackle Tennessee.”
It is not what many Bills fans will expect, but people are forgetting the single biggest factor when it comes to the NFL Draft the being money. The amount of bonus money being handed to the top 10 picks make it almost impossible to justify taking a defensive player.
Historically, going back to the 2000 Draft the ninth overall pick seven defensive players versus four offensive players have been taken there. The reason being that in the top five since the 2000 Draft typically three or four offensive players versus one or two defensive players get taken in the top five.
The way it is starting to shape up all four of the top offensive tackle will be gone by the ninth overall pick and both quarterbacks as well.
With quarterback, offensive tackle, and nose tackle being the biggest three needs a nose tackle at ninth would be the best value and the highest rated on their board at that time.
In the end, until the Bills pick nobody will know for sure who the Bills will take.
Its very rare to see a trade between division rivals, which means there has not been two in one year in a long time or ever. However, that may change soon, which could involve possibly the Buffalo Bills.
According to ESPNNewYork.com, via ProFootballTalk.com, New York Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens wants to be trade so he can have a shot at being a starter. However, Clemens doesn’t have any leverage unless he holds out.
A restricted free agent can sign with any other team until April 15th, but that usually doesn’t happen as teams don’t like to give up draft picks.
After the deadline Clemens can only resign with the Jets, unless his rights get traded to another teams.
The smart thing for the Jets to do would be to trade Clemens now or by the time of the National Football League Draft, because if the salary cap were to come back by the end of the regular season Clemens would then be a unrestricted free agent, which means the Jets would then get nothing in return.
With this news the Bills now have another option at quarterback besides Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell.
The big question is will the Jets be willing to trade to a division rival? Yes, due to the fact that they believe Sanchez is the better quarterback and a very good defense, which means in their mind it will not matter as they will still beat them with Clemens.
In the end, Bills fans can forget about getting one of the quarterbacks in the upcoming National Football League Draft.
