Eagles need to get what they can

Standard

It is evident through all the reports that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to trade quarterback Donovan McNabb. That means they better get what they can for him now.

The Eagles right from the start put themselves in a hole by stating that they would have to get an offer that would blow them away in order to trade one of their quarterbacks. The reason is that there aren’t many teams that need one right now.

McNabb is in his 30’s and has a history of injury problems. Also, McNabb is going into the last year of his contract, so teams are going to be hesitant to give a lot up for him.

In the end, the Eagles need to pull the trigger right now.

Good night and good luck.

The numbers don’t lie

Statistics in sports are indicators for what traits make an athlete successful within their sport.  The numbers in regard to one big name college quarterback is eye opening.

Kerry J. Beryne of SI.com broke down six big name college quarterbacks by their statistics.   However, the only two that people need to be compared and they are quarterbacks A and F.

Quarterback A 851 comp 1,354 attempts for a 62.5 completion percentage 11,201 yards passing 8.27 yards per an attempt 90 touchdowns 33 interceptions for 100.93 quarterback rating.

Quarterback F 661 completions 985 attempts 67.11 completion percentage 9,286 yards passing 9.43 yards per an attempt 88 touchdowns 15 interceptions for 120.72 quarterback rating.

Quarterback A is Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and Quarterback F is former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow.

In the end, the Bills would be foolish not to take Tebow.

Look for the Bills to be on the move

Standard

For the past several National Football League Drafts the Buffalo Bills have stood pat where they were drafting.  However, that will most likely change with general manager Buddy Nix in charge now.

People forget that not only is Nix a good evaluator of talent he also knows how to build a team through the draft.  One of those methods is trading and Nix was apart of two huge ones in recent history.

Nix prior to returning to the Bills was with the San Diego Chargers from 2000-2008.   In that time Nix was apart of the 2001 trade that brought running back LaDainian Tomlinson, wide receiver Tim Dwight, wide receiver Reche Caldwell and cornerback  Tay Cody and in 2004 he was apart of the trade that brought quarterback  Phillip Rivers, kicker Nate Kaeding, and outside linebacker Shawne Merriman.

The tone in the statements in Nix and head coach Chan Gailey state that the Bills are a couple drafts away from making the playoffs.  That is usually a precursor to Draft day trades.

In the end, that means if that a team comes knocking on Draft day Nix will be moving.

FBI needed in Georgia assault case

Standard

It has already been reported that police involved in investigating Pittsbugh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for allegedly committing sexual assault took pictures with him earlier in the day of the reported assault.  With what is now being reported about the case the Federal Bureau of Investigations need to take over the case.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, via ProFootballTalk.com, the surveillance tapes from the nightclub where the incident took are not available, because they were recorded over.  That is troubling considering that the incident was reported before the nightclub even closed.

Anything within a place of a crime scene can be confiscated for evidence by police investigating the crime.  One of the first things that police officers ask when investigating is if there is any forms of security in place at the crime scene as video is the best way to prove that a crime was committed.

That means something was going on that the owners of the night club and the police did not want to be seen that occurred on the night of the incident.  So, it is either that or the police completely botched the case from the very first day.

In the end, someone needs to take over the case,, because it is getting out of control.
