The National Football League’s new business year started at midnight Friday.
Unlike years past the first day of free agency was pretty quiet.
The two big deals of the deal were the Chicago Bears signing defensive end Julius Peppers and the Baltimore Ravens trading for wide receiver Anquan Boldin.
There are so few free agents on the market that free agency should be done by the end of the Sunday night.
The real activity to watch will be who locks up their restricted free agents long term.
The reason being that a team cannot reach a long term deal that player is going to be traded as at anytime a deal could be reached instituting the old rules of free agency.
In the end the real activity will commence when the NFL Draft starts.
