The New Orleans Saints won Superbowl XLIV by beating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17.
With what ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the Saints have a huge mountain to climb if they are going to make it back to the Superbowl next season.
A Superbowl winner already has a tough task at hand with the schedule they will face the following year and that each and every opponent is determined to beat the defending Superbowl champion to improve their own odds at winning it all.
According to Schefter, the Saints have 29 players they have to resign.
Of those 11 are unrestricted free agents, which means they get top priority when it comes to resigning.
The restricted players will get tendered in accordance to what the Saints think they are worth and then will have to get in line and wait until it is their turn.
The only way restricted free agents could get a contract is to get an offer from another teams, which the Saints can then choose to match or take draft picks as compensation.
In the end it is a tall order to fill, but if there is any team up to it that is the Saints as after all most people expected the Colts to win the Superbowl.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter multiple teams have contacted the Philadelphia Eagles about their three quarterbacks.
With Len Pasquarelli of ESPN reporting recently that new Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey was interested in Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mike Vick means the Bills are one of those teams that made a inquiry to the Eagles.
The big question the Eagles face is who do they want to keep at quarterback as all three of their quarterbacks in 2010 are in the last year of their current contract, and want to start.
Back up quarterback Kevin Kolb has sat behind starter Donovan McNabb for three years now and is more than ready to start.
As for McNabb he is coming off one of the best years of his career and still has three or four more years in his prime.
Whoever the Eagles extend first between Kolb and McNabb will be their quarterback of the future and the other two will come available through a trade.
In the end if the Buffalo Bills trade for McNabb or Kolb they will have a good chance at the playoffs and if it is Vick you can expect more miserable years with no playoffs.
Today is the day where we finally find out who will be the Superbowl champion.
To be honest I don’t have a clue who will win the Superbowl.
Both the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts have great offenses led by top notch quarterback.
The key to the game will be the defenses.
Specifically, who has the better game plan to stop the opposition offense.
Many experts are expecting the Colts to blow out the Saints, which I highly doubt as both are evenly matched..
In the end sit back and enjoy, because this Superbowl should be one for the ages.
