Bills Fans Could Still get a Big Name

Standard

Buffalo Bills fans were clamoring for a big name as the new head coach.

Even though Chan Gailey is the new Bills head coach Bills fans could still get a big name.

In an interview with WIVB-TV former Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Reeves stated he will help out Gailey in any way he can.

Reeves goes way back with Gailey as he was his little league coach and then later on Gailey was his offensive coordinator with the Broncos.

Even though Reeves has been out of the National Football League since 2003 he still be a huge addition.

In the end Gailey should take up on the offer.

Ryan Should Thank Ralph

Standard

It is being reported that New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan gave former San Diego Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer a game ball after last Sunday’s win over the Chargers.

The next person that Ryan needs to thank is Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson.

The reason being that Wilson turned down the idea of Marty as head coach.

If Marty became the Bills head coach then he would have surely brought his son New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to be the Bills offensive coordinator.

That alone should be more than enough reason to hire Marty as it would have weakend a divisional opponent.

Instead the Jets now will get to build on what they did this year, which makes new head coach Chan Gailey’s job harder to win.

In the end Ralph shot himself in the foot.

Brohm Should get a Chance

Standard

Buffalo Bills quarterback Brian Brohm was a seoncd round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers a couple of years ago.

For Brohm 2010 should finally be his year that he gets a chance to start.

For the first two years of his career he was stuck behind Brett Farve and then Aaron Rodgers on the depth chart.

Brohm was then in 2009 relegated to the Packers practice squad where the Bills signed him off of.

Brohm finally got his first start this year against the Atlanta Falcons.

In the game he did pretty well for a guy starting his first ever game with a game plan of mainly just running the football.

With new head coach Chan Gailey Brohm should get a chance.

In the end Brohm deserves the chance cause he has the talent and the experience from college.

Gailey Will Go 3-4

Standard

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey hinted at using a 3-4 earlier this week.

With what was reported in the Buffalo News its all, but official.

Accorfing to the report the Bills requested permission to talk to then Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Mike Nolan.

Nolan ran a 3-4 defensive scheme in Denver and as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.

In the end Bills fans are finally getting their wish to change back to 3-4 after a decade of the 4-3.

Modrak Won’t be Going Anytime Soon

Standard

With the Buffalo Bills firing John Guy Wednesday many people are hoping assistant general manager Tom Modrak will be soon to follow.

However, the fact of the matter is that will not happen until after the National Football League Draft.

Most front office personnel contracts are set to expire in May as most of the scouting for 2010 is over with and will not start again until about august when college and NFL training camps open.

In the end Bills fans are just going to have to be paitient.

Front Office Evaluations Begin

Standard

Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix promised he would evaluate the front office when he took over.

Nix has started the process as the Bills announced last night they have fired Pro Personnel Director John Guy.

Guy was reponsible for the scouting of available free agent and the advance scouting of opponents.

The move was necessary as the Guy missed on more than half of his free agents moves and due to the fact the Bills have missed the playoffs for the last 10 years.

With Nix hiring a head coach with expreience in Chan Gailey you can expect Guy’s replacement to be someone with exoerience at the position.

To Guy’s defense hitting free agents is hard as most free agents rarely work out as they usually don’t fit into a team’s scheme.

In the end simply the move was necessary.
