Bills Coaching Search is Getting Nuts

Standard

It was recently reported that former Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick and New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer are on the Bills list of candidates to be interviewed.

With the both Billick and Schottenheimer both denying any contact the search is officially getting ridiculous.

The search has seen so reports that have been thought to be true and then reuted later that nobody knows what is true or not.

Being a fellow Bills fan I am on edge already wanting to know who the next head coach is.

The problem is that the search has just started as the Bills are interviewing their third candidate Thursday since former head coach Dick Jauron was fired.

Also, former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher has not stated anything publicly what his intentions are for the 2010 regular season.

In the end until the Bills have a new head coach it is going to be a wild ride.

Raiders are Ridiculous

Standard

The rift between the Oakland Raiders and former quarterback Rich Gannon was on display this past regular season.

With Gannon rebuffed after he reached out just shows how ridiculous they are.

Gannon on his Sirius Satellite Radio show stated that he reached out to Raiders owner Al Davis on Monday.

That obviously fell on deaf ears as Raiders senior executive John Herrera stated that Gannon is the one that needs help.

Really? Gannon needs help even though the Raiders are one of the worst teams in the National Football League?

If this is any other organization a successful former player of the likes of Gannon would be embraced.

However, this is the Raiders and the only opinion that matters is Davis.

In the end the Raiders will always be bad with Davis being the owner unless he relinquishes power to a real football guy.

Frazier isn’t a Good Fit

Standard

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports has learned that Minnesota Vikings defensive Coorfinator Leslie Frazier will interview tommorrow for the Buffalo Bills head coach position.

The fact of the matter is that Frazier doesn’t fit what the Bills are looking for in a head coach.

The Bills defense isn’t the problem as it has talent and a solid defensive coordinator would make the unit formidable.

The offense is a mess and the Bills need a head coach with an offensive back ground.

In the end Frazier is a quality coach, but being a defensive coordinator should rule him out as a finalist.

Followup on East Aurora.org Report

Standard

Kasper’s Korner has learned more anoth the report on former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher from EastAurora.org.

According to an email reponse from the site his source was someone associated with the Bills.

Also, he went on to state that the report in Carolina about him walking his dog is false.

Finally, the site stated that there will be more coming on Cowher today.

Could Cowher slipped into town and not be noticed most likely as the Bills and Cowher met without anyone knowing the first time.

Now, don’t get me wrong Bills fans get excited and hope as nothing has come out of Cowher’s mouth.

Also, at the same time remember that nothing is final and anything can happen.

In the end you got to admit this saga with Cowher sure is fun.

The Process for the Bills

Standard

Many Buffalo Bills fans are on edge and want to know when the Bills will hire a head coach.

so, today we will look at the process and figure out the time frame.

The first thing the Bills embarked on was contacting the top head coach candidates.

Of them only Bill Cowher remains as he will reportedly decide by the end of the week.

When the season ended the Bills also had to do another thing and that is satisfy the Rooney Rule by interviewing a minority candidate, which they did Monday by interviewing former interim head coach Perry Fewell.

The Bills focus is on Cowher right now as they want a proven head coach.

The Bills will move on to other candidates if Cowher decides to not take the Bills job or the weekend comes near.

Coordinator candidates that are on teams can only be interviewed during the bye week.

That means Rivera has to be interiewed this weekend, which will most likely be followed by candidates like Brian Billick, Charlie Weis, and others who don’t have a job or team is not in the playoffs.

Finally, those coordinators whose team gets eliminated from the playoffs will be theb interviewed.

The Bills will have a new head coach in Bill Cowher by the end of the week or a new head coach in the form of ab alternative candidate by the end of the month.

In the end Bills fans have to wait and see.

Bills Player Evaluations are on Hold

Standard

Typically, when the regular season ends players are evaluated to see if they need to be replaced.

With the Bills searching for a head coach the player’s evaluations will be on hold.

The reason being that players cannot be evaluated is that the nwxt head coach of the Bills may not like some of the players that the previous liked,

Also, the next coaching staff will bring in a whole new sYstem where some of the payers may not fit.

In the end the players will have to wait just like everyone else.
