The Minnesota Vikings for a while now have been trying to get a new stadium for quite some time now.

With what is being reported in the Minneapolis Star Tribune the Minnesota Vikings will be gone after the lease expires in 2011.

According to the Star Tribune, the Minneapolis Sports Facility Commission tried to get the Vikings to extend their current lease on the Metrodome thru 2013 with an incentive of handing ove all post season receipts.

The only thing that did was infuriate the Vikings more as they are adamant that they will not sign another lease without a deal for a new stadium.

The Vikings need a new stadium as the one they have is out of date is hampering the Vikings from drawing the revenues necessary for long term success financially and on the field.

In the end the governments in Minnesota better wake up, because time is running out.
