Will Westbrooks Comments Fall on Deaf Ear?
Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook’s admitted to The Intelligencer that the consussion he suffered a couple of weeks ago.
Even with Westbrook being a prominent player you have to wonder if most players will listen.
It has been recently discivered that the long term effects of concussions later in life in life brings mental diseases.
This has been a big issue with retired players as many of them have become disabled fron injuries they have suffered while paying.
However, the current players have pretty much have ignored it as several players like Baltimore Ravens center Matt Birk has come up with event to help the retired player, which had minimal success.
In the end with Congress also having hearings on the situation of retired players, along with Wesdtbrook’s comment, current players will realize that if they do not take injuries more seriously their health will deteriorate more quickly later in life.
