2009 Week Eight Commentary

Denver Broncos at Baltimore Ravens:

Broncos: Their season will be defined by how they play next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers

Ravens: Huge must win game that should get them back on the right track.

Houston Texans at Buffalo Bills:

Texans: This was a game they had to win as the Bills defense has been ravaged by injury and being on the field too much.  Also, with quarterback Matt Schaub shredding the Bills defense Texans fans should start thinking playoffs.

Bills:  A disaster and train wreck of a team as they are just not the same without quarterback Trent Edwards.

Cleveland Browns at Chicago Bears:

Browns: Just put in quarterback Brady Quinn that way you can find out about him already.

Bears: With the running game on track for this game the Bears now have to do it against a good team if they are going to get to the playoffs.

Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys

Seahawks: They need to move on from defensive end Patrick Kerney as he is constantly hurt

Cowboys: The real test on if Romo has improved is next week against the Philadelphia Eagles as they are ranked 10th in the National Football League on defense.

Miami Dolphins at New York Jets:

Dolphins: With the Dolphins traveling to New England next week the way Chad Henne responds next week will be define him as a quarterback who really wants it will put in extra hours this week to find a way to defeat the New England Patriots.

Jets: Hopefully the Jets have learned to shut up as all the smack talking gives them no competitive edge, and just makes them look stupid.

San Francisco 49ers at Indianapolis Colts:

49ers: It is good to see quarterback Alex Smith get another chance after all the crap he went through with former head coach Mike Nolan, and having success with it.

Colts: It will be tough for the Colts to make it far in the playoffs as the 49ers gave the rest of the league the plan on how to beat them.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles:

Giants: It is starting to show that the Giants are not deep on defense as they got gashed by the Eagles today.

Eagles: Today’s win makes the Eagles the front runner for the NFC West.

Saint Louis Rams at Detroit Lions:

Rams: Its time for the Rams to get rid of quarterback Mark Bulger as he is not good anymore for whatever reason.

Lions: Without Calvin Johnson quarterback Matt Stafford looks lost.

Oakland Raiders at San Diego Chargers:

Raiders: You have to wonder how much of the media circus surrounding head coach Tom Cable affected his team

Chargers: Head coach Norv Turner needs to make running back Darren Sproles the starter as he is clearly better.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans:

Jaguars: They need to find a way to stop the run if they are going to have any shot at the playoffs.

Titans: Nice first game back for quarterback Vince Young, but now he needs to improve his passing and  do it against a good team.

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers:

Vikings: As long as quarterback Brett Farve stays healthy for the rest of the year,

Pacers: If the Packers are going to get to the playoffs anytime soon they need to fix their offensive line.

Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals:

Panthers: If they are going to run the football 40 times a game they might a well try backup Matt Moore to see what he can do.

Cardinals: If the Cardinals don’t figure out a way to get the running game going they are going to be in trouble in the playoffs.
