The Indianapolis Colts announced today that they have signed running back Edgerin James.

For once it will be good to see a player retire with the he began with.

In the National Football League veteran players that are passed theie prime get cut usually by the team that originally drafted them.

The reason is that their salaries are so high keeping them cannot be justified unless they take a paycut, but that never happens due to ego.

With the Colts already having running back Joesph Addai.

That means James will be his backup at what is probably the veteran minimum plus some incentives.

In the end it is a shrewd move, because James knows the playbook already.
