NFL Week Two Commentarty
Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons:
Panthers: Nice bounce back game for quarterback Jake Delhomme. The problem here is the defense specifically the defensive line as they recorded no sacks on the game.
Falcons: As always quarterback Matt Ryan and running back Michael Turner carried the team to victory. Teams will eventually catch on to this.
Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings:
Lions: The Lions need to realize they do not have the defense or the running game to be able to start a rookie. If they do not yank him soon the will ruin quarterback Matt Stafford.
Vikings: Quarterback Brett Farve has not thrown a interception yet as he has changed his game to a more conservative approach. It is working for now, but it will not last long as Farve’s diva attitude will show sooner or later.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Green Bay Packers:
Bengals: It is scary to think that the Bengals offense did not need to rely on quarterback Carson Palmer to get them a win.
Packers: The Packers better find a way to fix their offensive line’s performance or it will be a long season for Packer fans.
Arizona Cardinals @ Jacksonville Jaguars:
Cardinals: Nice bounce back game for Warner, but this is the Jaguars and they are not as good defensively as they once were.
Jaguars: When you have a field goal blocked for a touchdown you are simply just not going to win that game.
Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs:
Raiders: It is not a good sign when your quarterback in year three of his career throws 7-24 in a game. They are very lucky to come out a win.
Chiefs: To throw a check down is one of the dumbest decisions that a quarterback can make with no time outs and less than :14 on the clock. Cassel will be right fully crucified for that this week.
New England Patriots @ New York Jets:
Patriots: Without wide receiver Wes Welker and no running game the Patriots are just simply not that good.
Jets: Jet fans have a lot to be hopeful as for the first time in a long time a rookie quarterback finished a game against Patriots head coach Bill Belichick smelling like roses. Usually Belichick eats rookies alive for breakfast.
New Orleans Saints @ Philadelphia Eagles:
Saints: The loss of running back Mike Bell will be huge for the Saints as teams will now start blitzing a lot to stop the passing attack. It looks like it will take a while for the defense to start looking like a Greg Williams defense.
Eagles: Your not going to win many football games when your quarterback throws three interception with one going for a touchdown and the other at your own 22 yard line.
Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans:
Texans: Looks like last weeks performance by quarterback Matt Schaub was due to his injury and a Jets defense that looks really good. Run defense needs to play way better.
Titans: Simply you just cannot sit back and let a quarterback just stand in the pocket without any pressure as any decent quarterback will pick your defense apart.
Saint Louis Rams @ Washington Redskins:
Rams: You cannot blame Avery for the loss as he was trying to get a first down on third and four. The true character of this team will show next week as champions bounce back and win their next game after a heart breaking loss.
Redskins: Going for it on fourth and one from the Rams two yard line in the fourth quarter with being up only two point is the most stupidest thing to do. Take the field goal and make them score a touchdown.
Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers:
Seahawks: Time for the Seahawks to move on from quarterback Matt Hasselbeck as he simply cannot hold up to the rigors of the National Football League.
49ers: The 49ers will go as far as running back Frank Gore holds up.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Chicago Bears:
Steelers: If the offensive line doesn’t find a way to play better it will be a long season for the Stelers.
Bears: Quarterback Jay Cutler looks like he is finally settling down in Chicago.
Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos:
Browns: The Browns have problems at offensive tackle allowing outside Broncos outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil four sacks on the day. It looks like Browns fans may be yearning for the days of Browns ownership under Art Model.
Broncos: The move to s 3-4 defense was the smart move as it took advantage of their skill at linebacker.
Baltimore Ravens @ San Diego Chargers:
Ravens: Got to improve the pass defense if they are going to get to the playoffs.
Chargers: Your not going to win games running the football like that.
