With the start of the National Football League’s regular season comes along the naming of team captains.

The Buffalo Bills finally announced theirs which did not include wide receiver Terrell Owens and should not be a surprise.

Owens not being named captain shouldn’t be a surprise due to his reputation, but due to the fact that fellow wide receiver Lee Evans has been here for much longer and has earned the right to be called captain.

Evans is a leader as every week he has a show on WGR 550 during the football season.

Evans on his show is always honest when questioned on the previous football game.

Captains may not be as big as in the National Hockey League, but they are still a sign of who the team looks to when things get ugly.

Owens will still be a leader in the lockeroom just not the lone voice in there.

In the end people shouldn’t worry about Owens blowing up over this.
