2009 Will Be Wade’s Swan Song
Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips led the Cowboys to a disappointing record of 9-7 in 2008 after going 13-3 in 2007.
2009 will be the last year for Phillips as the Cowboys head coach.
The main problem with the Cowboys is that they lost to much talent that they have not replaced yet.
The Cowboys’ in February cut wide receiver Terrell Owens, safety Roy Williams, outside linebacker Greg Elllis, and lost defensive end Chris Canty to free agency.
To replace Owens the Cowboys promoted wide receiver Roy Williams to the number one receiver on the depth chart.
To replace Canty the Cowboys signed defensive end Igor Olshansky.
Then to replace Williams the Cowboys signed safety Gerald Sensabaugh who only became a fulltime starter last year for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In the end the Cowboys did not do enough to solidify itself.
