Packers Were Fools

In the preseason of the National Football League teams usually work on base plays to get down the basics of the offense.

That was not the case for the Green Bay Packers as they brought everything against the Buffalo Bills this past Saturday.

According to the Buffalo News, starting quarterback Trent Edwards stated that the Packers brought a lot of different looks and blitzes, which included cornerback, safety, and linebacker blitzes.

Simply, that is shere stupidity as now all the Packers opponents know now what kind of look they will be bringing blitzes.

Obviously, defensive coordinator Dom Capers felt that the defense needed the extra work, or he wouldn’t have blitzed so much.

However, Capers is a veteran coach and should know already by now that the proper way to ensure that blitzes are executed properly in games is to keep going over them constantly in practice.

What Capers really did is he has now allowed teams to figure out his defense much quicker than usual.

In the end if the Packers defense is going to be successful it is going to be through flawless execution.
