Will Jones-Drew Be Up to the Challenge
The Jacksonville Jaguars released running back Fred Taylor, thus making Maurice Jones-Drew the featured running back.
The question is now can Jones-Drew carry the load by himself?
Jones-Drew had 197 rushing attempts for 824 yards with 12 touchdowns.
With the departure of Taylor you can expect Jones-Drew to rush the ball over 300 times this season.
That is a big difference for a running back and that many carries leads to a lot of hard his.
That means either his body will handle it or he will constantly never play a full season.
That was the case with Taylor as every year he missed games, which led the Jaguars to take Jones-Drew.
In the end it will be up to the offensive lineman to stay on their blocks to the whistle as that will prevent less hits taken by Jones-Drew to reduce the chance that he will suffere an injury
