Jets Just don’t Learn
The New York Jets year after year keep pouring money at free agents when time after time theses signings do not get them to the playoffs.
The Jets last year threw money at guard Alan Faneca, offensive tackle Damien Woody, and outside linebacker Calvin Pace.
This year the names are linebacker Bart Scott, signed safety Jim Leonhard, and traded for cornerback Lito Sheppard.
The thing is that you do not build a football team that way, especially when one of your division rivals is the New England Patriots.
The Patriots time and time again are always replacing players through the draft and very rarely through free agency.
In the end if the Jets are ever going to get back to prominence owner Woody Johnson needs to realize that getting there is building through the draft.
