Colts News Will Keep them in Contention
The Indianapolis Colts earlier this year faced the possibility of going into the 2009 season without the services of former offensive coordinatior Tom Moore and offensive line coach Howard Mudd. The Colts will now remain in contention with the news that the team received on consultants.
Mudd and Moore retired earlier this year due to concern over pension benefits from other teams.
The two were brought back then later as conslutants to hopefully resume their old duties only with different titles.
According to Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network, via ProFootballTalk.com, the NFL has ruled that there are no limitations on the duties of consultants, which means that a team can hire them to do whatever they want.
That measn Moore and Mudd on game day will continue their own duties, which is great news for the Colts as the offense now does not have to learn an entire new playbook.
A entirely new playbook encompasses new terminology and plays that the offense must learn.
In the end the AFC South is going to be one tough division for defesnses to play in.
