Will Boldin Hold Out?
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin has been asking for a new contract for a while now. With No progress being made there is a good possibility that he will be a hold out.
The situations has only got worst for Boldin as safety Adrian Wilson signed a contract extension.
When Wilson signed his new deal it put the Cardinals close to the salary cap, which means that a new deal is not likely to come any times soon for Boldin.
On top of that the Cardinals also have to try and get a long term contract done with linebacker Karlos Dansby who was given the franchise tag earlier this offseason.
The only choice that Boldon has to get anything done is to hold out of training camp.
If they still don’t give him a new contract or trade him then he will have to hold out till week 10 of the regular season, which is the last week a player can report and get credit for a year towards his contract.
It become apparent that Boldin is becoming uneasy as he has changed agents and that only adds to the evidence that Boldin will hold out.
If fellow players on the Cardinals were smart they would do what is best for the team and sacrafice a little bit of their pay in order to get a deal done for Boldin.
However, with wide receiver Steve Breaston a capable starter neither the Cardinals players or management will be inclined to do anything.
