With the announcement that Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Turk Schonert was bringing back the No Huddle offense some people became concerned that the defense will get tired.  However, these people are wrong as the defense should be fine.

When the Bills ran their version of the No Huddle, called the K-Gun, it lead the Bills to four straight Superbowl appearances.

The drawback then was that the defense would get tired as they were out on the field more than usual.

There is one major difference with the Bills defense now campared to back then, and that is the defense rotates today.

The defensive line back in the early 1990’s were lead by defensive ends Bruce Smith and Phil Hansen, along with defensive tackle Jeff Wright.  None of them ever came out for a single down.

That was a problem, because the length of drives for the offense was three minutes or less.

With the current coaching staff rotating the defense so much the defense should be fine.

What will also help is that on obvious passing downs situations the Bills defense should go back to using three defensive ends with one defensive tackles.

The Bills got away from this, because defensive end Aaron Schobel was hurt for three quarters of the year.

It will be an interesting year for the defense, especially if the offense lives up to its hype.

For if it does then the defense will be in more passing downs, which plays to their strengt as they were 13th against the pass last year.
