The Chiefs are not a Pushover Anymore
The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of rebuilding their football team. With the additions they made this offseason the Chiefs will be a tough team to beat.
In the National Football League each season there is usually one team that makes an unexpected complete turn around from a losing team to a winning team.
It started with the hiring of Scott Pioli as thier general manager then hiring Todd Haley to be their head coach. The one thing that both mean bring is mental toughness as the only way is their way.
The Chiefs did the smart thing as they did not completely overhaul their roster.
Instead they got aggressive in trading for quarterback Matt Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel from the New England Patriots for a mere second round pick in this past April’s Draft.
Then they went into free agency and singed linebacker Zach Thomas, wide receiver Bobby Engram, guard Mike Goff, and center Eric Ghiaciuc.
There there is of course the draft, which Pioli is famous for, and only added to their talented young core.
The moves by Pioli to bring in veterans were very good as they did no have much veteran leadership as it was purged several seasons ago.
Young players need older players to guide them, because they will tune out coaches due to arrogance or the coaches is yelling all the time.
You can bet that the Chiefs will be right in the mddle of things in the race for the AFC West division championship.
