Cowboys Learn a Lesson
It sometimes takes tragedy to get points across, unfortunately. That is the case with the Dallas Cowboys as they have learned a lesson from the tragedy that took place this past Saturday.
Football has been a sport that has always been played and practice outside. That is till someone had the bright idea of creating indoor facilities.
Every team in the National Football League has an indoor practice facility. Many thought until Saturday that they were the safest places to be when bad weather was taking place outside.
The Cowboys learned that even the best facility that money can buy is not immune to the wrath of mother nature. That also means that teams need to have a plan in case of an emergency.
The fact of the matter is that practice or games should be held outside unless there is a hurricane, tornado, or thunderstorms.
The thing is that when bad weather happens during practice those are the most fun to be in. The reason is that not even the coaches are immune to getting dirty as usually us players like to catch coaches off guard, and throw them in the mud.
The one thing that bothers me that with all these billion dollar stadiums being built no one has had the idea of creating an indoor practice facility underneath the stadium. That or use concrete so that it is a safe haven to go to.
Teams will still use indoor facilities all the time. Just hopefully the NFLPA forces owners to come up with emergency plans for tornados, hurricanes, or other emergency.
