Success for Jaguars Means Staying Healthy

The Jacksonville Jaguars were one of the early season favorites in 2008 to go to the playoffs, and make the Superbowl, but injuries derailed that.  For the Jaguars to win games they simply need to just stay healthy.

The Jaguars lost both of their starting guards within the first few weeks of the season for the year.  That caused them never to be the same, because they could not run the ball as well, or protect the quarterback.

They Jaguars have improved their offense by signing wide receiver Torry Holt.  Wide receiver was their only weak link on offense.

Also, the Jaguars refortified their offensive line signing free agent tackle Tra Thomas, and drafting tackles Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton.
Defensively, the only player that they lost was linebacker Mike Peterson, but he was fell out of favor last year with Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio.

The key for the defense will be the development of second year defensive ends Derrick Harvey and Quentin Groves.

They Jaguars have all the makings of a playoff contender, but they are in a division with the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans.  That mean making the playoffs is a tall order.
