Broncos Were Idiots For Even Thinking About the Trade
The most surprising development of the second day of Free Agency, which was Saturday February 28th, was the news that the Denver Broncos attempted to trade quarterback Jay Cutler. Just the mere fact that they were even thinking about it makes the Broncos idiots.
Cutler was amazing last year for the Broncos as he threw for 4,526 yards with 25 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. All that was accomplished without a running game as the Broncos top running backs were all injured.
The trade was facilitated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The trade had Cutler going to the Buccaneers for a first round pick. Then New England Patriot quarterback Matt Cassel would have went to the Broncos for the first round pick they acquired from the Bucs.
According to the Denver Post the trade was most likely entertained, because the system has a lot of adjustments being made at the line of scrimmage. Also, the terminology for the play calling is much different.
The problem is that great coaches do not make the players fit the system. They make their system fit around the players they have.
With the number of free agents being signed, along with the amount of commons sense in the organization, the team is going to be an awful one.
