Gonzalez Will Be Next To Go

Kansas City Cheifs general manager Scott Pioli started putting his stamp on the Cheifs today by cutting three veterans.  The moves signal that tight end Tony Gonzalez is going to be the next to go.

According to Pro Football Talk.com, who I view as a better version of the Associated Press, reports that the Cheifs have cut linebacker Donnie Edwards, cornerback Patrick Surtain, and quarterback Damon Huard.

The moves mean two things.  First, the Chiefs are nowhere close to being a playoff contender.  There is always a team each year that goes from missing the playoffs to making it.  Obviously, Pioli does not think that they can.
Secondly, that tight end Tony Gonzalez will be dealt to another team.  Pioli came from the New England Patriots, and the Patriots were always looking for ways to make trades to get more draft picks.

The only question will be is Pioli going to listen to Gonzalez, and attempt to trade him to a team he wants? Or, is Pioli going to screw him and trade hime to the team that comes in with the highest bid?
