Xanders Worth the Gamble for Broncos

The Denver Broncos were searching for a new general manager after owner Pat Bowlen fired head coach/ general manager Mike Shanahan.  Bowlen made an interesting choice in Brian Xanders.

Xanders has been a assistant general manager with the team, since May of last year. Before that he was with the Atlanta Falcons for 14 years in many different roles, which included player personnel, coaching, salary cap management, information technology, and business management.

Xanders is the modern day renisannce man, which means he will have a different outlook on things than the typical general manager.

Bowlen decision to go with a rookie general manager is a good one, because most retreads simply do not change.
