Pennington Should Play

The Miami Dolphins brought in quarterback Chad Pennington to be the starter while quarterback Chad Henne develops.  Unless Pennington gets hurt he should be the starter no matter what.

In 2010 either quarterbacks Chad Henne or Pat White, who the Dolphins both drafted, will be the starting quarterback as Pennington is going into the last year of his contract with the team.

Since Pennington is in the last year of his contract it could mean that if he struggles he could get benched in favor of Henne or White to get the some playing experience.

That would be foolish as Pennington was the reason they got to the playoffs.

The AFC East is a really tough defensive division led by New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick who eats young quarterbacks for breakfast.

If the either Henne or White display that they do not fully have the playbook memorized then they should not see the field as the defensive schemes are really complex in this division.

You have to look no further for evidence of this as Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards still struggled against the Patriots in his rookie year.

Also, constantly changing quarterbacks is not good as it messes up wide receiver’s timing on passing routes.
In the end Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano stands his ground and sticks with however is the starter at the beginning of the season, unless they get hurt, as it is the best thing for the team.
