Peters getting a bum rap in Saint Louis

Buffalo Bills tackle Jason Peters is off to a slow start this season.  However, people are wrongly blaming Peters for a sack by by Chris Long.

Even Buffalo New’s Allen Wilson messed this up.  The problem being that everyone is forgetting on the play the Marshawn Lynch slipped when he went to help block Long.

However, it would have not mattered, because the defense had a twist stunt on the play.  Unless quarterback Trent Edwards slided up, and released it quickly, he still would have gotten sacked.

A twist stunt is that the defensive lineman will cross his blocker’s face to rush inside. Then a linebacker would go around the defensive lineman to rush outside.

To combat this type of stunt players need to be on the same page.  That is not the case with Lynch going for Long.

As in the book “Sundday Morning Quarterback” By Phil Simms with Vic Varucci, people need to looks past the announcers, because they are usually wrong, and need to analyze the player more analytically afterwards.

As the saying goes do not judge a book by its cover.
