Jacksonville Jaguars tackle Richard Collier is lucky to even be alive as he was shot 14 times earlier this month.  Hopefully, the senseless violence will be a wakeup call to National Football League players.

It has been a couple of years since Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was shot to death outside a night club celebrating New Years.  All of those memories have come flooding back to the minds of everyone.

There is no question about it NFL players are targets if they visit clubs.  The reason is for several different things.

First, the raining of cash by NFL players Javon Walker, and Adam “Pacman” Jones, sent a message to criminals that NFL players are loaded when they go to clubs looking to spen big time money.

Secondly, their easy targets.  They are told be the NFL office not to carry guns.  A lot of the feel invincible.  Finally, their senses are way off, because the have been drinking.  That means they do not see trouble coming, until it is to late that is.

So, what is the solution to this?  Simple, that is ban players for night clubs all together.

The proof is in Pro Football Talk.com turd watch.  What drug do most of the arrests stem from on the site?  Alcohol, because players love to party.

They love to party, because it feeds their ego.  They are the big shot in the room, and that status allows them to get in the sack easier with women.

Its obvious that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is going to have to step in on this one.  After all if the players cannot save themselves, then someone has to do it before there is another incident like Colliers and Williams.
