Edwards arm finally shines

Many fans last year questioned if Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards had a strong enough arm for deep passes.  That question has been put to rest after just one game.

Trent Edwards surprised many Bills fans, except this journalist, when he hit wide receiver Lee Evans for passes of 32 and 41 yards.  He had two other passes that were completions for more than 20 yards.

Edwards has a great arm.  Last year while doing some research on Trent for an article I came in contact with Edward high school head coach Butch Cattolico and had this to say about Edwards deep ball, “He has one of the best deep balls I have ever seen.  He can throw it deep, and very accurate.”

Play calling was the main reason why Edwards arm did not shine last year.  Was it for ball control to keep the offense on the field, or was former offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild just to scared to call it for a rookie quarterback?

The Bills have a deadly combination on offense.  That being a best or a running back in Marshawn Lynch, an explosive wide receiver in Lee Evans, and a smart and accurate quarterback who looks to be on the verge of becoming an elite quarterback.

With a resounding spanking of the Jacksonville Jaguars the Bills will set them selves up to win their first AFC East title in more than a decade.
