Young another flop in the making

Vince Young at the time he was drafted, in the 2006 National Football League draft, was a controversial pick.  Already it is looking that the Tennessee Titans made the wrong move in drafting Young.

At the time he was drafted the Titans offensive coordinator was Norm Chow.  Just the previous year in 2005 Chow was the offensive coordinator for the USC Trojans, who lead by quarterback Matt Leinart.

Chow and head coach Jeff Fisher both wanted Leinart.  However, the owner and general manager went againt their wishes, and choose Young.

Even at the time he was drafted Young was a raw talent, and was not really polished when it came to his passing skills.  For some reason though the team thought that it was going to be fine to start Young from the outright.

That looks to be a huge mistake.  So, far in the first two games of the preseaon Young has been miserable.  He has completed only seven of 19 passes for 54 yards, with no touchdowns, or interceptions.

This is a crucial year for Young as he is now entering his third year in the league.  Fans know it as already they are booing Young.

Simply, the Titans made a dumb move in not letting Young to develop his skills for a while on the bench.

The Titans will pay a heavy price if Young flops.  They will have a huge amount of dead cap money on the books if the cut Young.  Also, it will set the offense back a couple more years as they will have to draft, and develop, another quarterback.  That will take several years to do.

Smooth move Titans, but hey what do you expect from a team that drafts a player in Adam “Pacman” Jones.  Who thinks that there is nothing wrong with going to strip clubs, even when they are about to meet the commissioner, and possibly be suspended for a year.
