Smith getting raw end of the deal
Carlolina Panther wide receiver Steve Smith and cornerback Ken Lucas were involoved in a fight that resulted in a broken nose for Lucas. As details come out it is starting to look like that Smith is getting the raw end of the stick.
There is one ugly reality that goes on in football, and that is harrasment. It comes in various different forms from jokes, initiations, and even being made fun of. In this instance it was verbal harrasment from fellow players that cause the fight.
According to Pro Football Talk.com, Ken Lucas has had a nose job. Which, editor Mike Florio confirmed through photographic evidence.
The problem is that it has not been recognized as a problem by the National Football League offices. Eventhough, there has been countless stories that have been provided by players over the years.
So, as long as NFL commisioner Roger Goodell does not address this issue there will be more instances of these type of events, and maybe even the death of a athlete.
So, in the end Smith should not be just the only one suspended. Those who harrassed Smith should be suspended as well. Which, should be the maximum four games that a team can suspend a player under the current CBA.
No matter what the job is harrassment should never be tolerated.
