The Washingtong Redskins did something that shocked the football world, and that being not spend very much money on free agents.  With that being said this years draft is crucial for the future of their franchise.

The draft is a very important one for the Washington Redskins.  For it will lay the foundation of the teams success in the future to come, especially on offense.

On offense they have two glaring needs a tall playmaking receiver, and future replacements for their offensive line.  The Redskins do have Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El, but both are only 5′10 tall.  On the offensive line no starter is under the age of 30 years old, plus two key backup linemen are over 30.

Luckily, they do not have to do it overnite, and can do it over the course of several years.  However, this drat is billed as a very deep draft when it comes to the tackle position.  So, getting at least one tackle, and one guard will be the best thing to do.  Also, center Casey Rabach is 30, so they have a few years to go to worry about that.

On the defensive side of the ball they need better players on the defense line.  They were in the top five against defending the run, however, their pass defense was not that good at all.  Both starting defensive tackles combined for only three sacks, and that is not going to get it done.  You need five to ten for the position to be successful.

Also, cornerback, and of course stront safety, are the rest of the needs.  I do not have to tell you why strong safety is a need.  If I do then you must have been living under a rock for the past year.  Cornerback wise they are in need of a nickle.

If the Redskins are going to get back to the Super Bowl it will finally be due to the draft, and not owner Dan Snyder’s money.
