Does Dallas roll out the dough for Adams
The Dallas Cowboys are a team filled with money. However, they do not spend that money foolishly; as is the case with left tackle Flozell Adams.
Adams is a good tackle, and with his contract over he is sure to get decent money on the market. The question for Dallas is do they pay the price to keep him?
Adams is 32, and most likely will start to decline rapidly. Also, with defensive ends so fast his decline will be fast.
That is always the case with tackles. Teams do not realize that defensive ends are getting faster, and faster, every year.
The best thing for Dallas to do is to let Adams walk. Then in the first round of the NFL Draft take a tackle to fill the hole. That is what makes sense.
What does not makes sense is Marc Columbo’s comment in the Dallas Morning News. Columbo said, “I think he’s the best pass-blocking left tackle in all of football.”
Seriously, the best tackle in all of football. There are other tackles that are better than him, like Buffalo Bill Jason Peters.
In the end Flozell will get paid just not with the Cowboys.
