New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker was a head scratching move during the offseason.  Since, the start of the season he has been a huge signing that has had a significant impact on the New England Patriots.

Many people think that shutting down Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss, or quarterback Tom Brady, will be the key to beating with the Patriots.

Welker is the leading receiver on the team with 61 catches.  Moss, who has 56 catches, is second on the team to Welker.

The problem that comes up with stopping Welker is that the Bills do not have a reliable cornerback for their nickle package.  Their nickle corner for the upcoming game is Demitrius Butler who the Buffalo Bills signed due to injuries.

So, how will the Bills stop the Patriots passing game?  Well the obvious strategy would be blitz the Patriots, but that is not the defenses style of play.

The other person that the Bills will rely heavy upon is defensive end Aaron Schobel.  Schobel has been quiet in the sack department, but always has done well against the Patriots.

The other starting Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay was also give big money this offseason  Also, just like Schobel, has been quiet in the sack department for the most part.

However, Kelsay has contributed in other ways for the Bills, and that mainly being points scored off turnovers.  Kelsay last week recorded a safety against the Dolphins.  Earlier in the year Kelsay blocked a pass, caught it, and returned it for a touchdown.

The one last key in defeating the Patiots is the defensive tackles.  Kyle Williams and John McCargo  have recorded  two sacks, while Larry Tripplet has yet to record a sack.

If the Bills are to win sunday the defensive line will have to shut down the passing game.  Something that no team has yet to do.
