With Lindy Ruff once again is going back to the monthly captain system.  One has to wonder if the Buffalo Sabres are going to pay down in the payoffs when it comes to leadership.

The captiancy in hockey is a stature reserved for that one player when it comes to crunch time will step up and take control of a hockey team. There is one coach that thinks of the captaincy a little different.

Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff will rotate the captaincy again this year.  The thinking being that there are a lot of younger veterans that will step up and all lead at once.  That thinking is flawed, and I mean very flawed.

Leaders are made and born when times are bleak.  They step up rally a team and lead it to victory.  Leaders do not come by the handful, nor do they come just at will.  The one greatest quality of a leader is that he wants to lead.

Rotating the captaincy is nothing more than a glorified award for player of the month.  Players who play good one month should not be awarded with a captial C on their chest.  That deserves nothing more than a pat on the back.  Cause it is every players obligation to play as best as he can night in and night out.

The problem is that the Stanley cup playoffs are a roller coaster.  Sometimes you are playing great, and sometimes you are playing awful.  It is those awful times players need that swift kick in the pants from their captain.

The problem is who will they turn to when it comes to guidance in the playoffs.  Captains speak up in those intermissions and rally the troops.  When it comes to playoff intermmission they will all be looking around for the real leader.

Innovation can be a great thing.  However, as the saying goes if its not broken do not fix it.

It has been a long time, since the Buffalo Bills have ben onn Monday night football.  Let alone a home game on monday night football.  Monday night will mark the night that Trent Edwards will take his future into his own hands.

The Dallas Cowboys have been a formidable foe this year.  They are arguable one of the best teams this year so far.  With that being said even an average performance should win him the job as quarterback.

Lets face it quarterback JP Losman has not done enough over the last couple of seasons to win over fans.  The one thing that I have noticed that Losman was lacking was the ability to sustain long drives fequently.

Sustaining long drives relies on both the running game and the passing game doing well. However, there are times where one of them struggle, and the other picks up the slack.  Trent Edwards did that this past week at the Jets.  Losman on the other hand has not.

Veteran Bills fans know to well that the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys could easily shut down the offense.  Former Bills head coach Wade Phillips is now the Dallas Cowboys head coach, and already the dallas are a force to be reconded with.

That is why Monday night will be D-day for the Edwards.  If he gives a good performance the job should be his if not the look for Losman to get a couple more weeks.
