Sabres backs already to the wall

The National Hockey League’s season has just begun.  Already the Sabres are at a critical moment of time with a loss to the Carolina Hurricane.

That critical moment being tonight with a 6-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricane in the second game of a five game road trip.

The trip in itself would most likely define who the real leaders are on the Sabres.  That question so far has still yet to be answered this season.

They better find those leaders fast, becuase they are near the bottom of the Eastern Conference.  If the playoffs were to start today the Sabres would not be in the playoffs.

You would think that with the deep run into the playoffs, that the Sabres have made the previous two seasons, players would know how to get it done.  However, that is far from the case.

The loss of Chris Drury has sent shockwaves through the organization.  Shockwaves that hit the team hard tonight when the Hurricane turned on the power play in the third period.

Simply it goes back to the face offs, and Drury was their best center in regard to face offs.  Now, they do not have a dominant face off person, and they are severly paying for it.

Simply one of the fowards has to step up and lead this team.  The person that is willing to fill the role that Chris Drury use to fill will lead the team, and maybe back to success.
